Compete

Your competitor library, and every time one of them came up in a call, an email or a note your connected tools brought in.

Included with salescron . A seat without it sees an upsell here instead of the page.

Overview

The competitor section at the bottom of Deal Inspection is two things. It is the library of who you keep running into, with a battlecard and the themes you have seen win and lose against each of them. And it is the record of when they actually came up: as your connected tools bring in calls, emails and notes, each one is read against your list, and a match is recorded with the sentence it came from.

Naming a competitor is what switches the listening on

This is the part worth understanding, because it is not obvious. The classifier runs on every piece of new activity, and the first thing it does is read your competitor list. An empty list means it has nothing to match against, so it finds nothing and records nothing. That is not a quiet market; it is the listening being off.

So the first competitor you add is the one that starts the whole thing working. Add the two or three you actually run into. The page says which state you are in rather than showing an empty table either way.

It does not look backwards. Activity that arrived before you added a competitor is not re-scanned, so the timeline starts from when you named them.

What a mention is, and is not

A mention is evidence that a competitor was in the room: their name came up in something your tools brought in, and the sentence it came from is kept alongside it so you can judge it yourself. Each carries a confidence, and a weak match is not recorded at all.

It is not a claim about who won, and the count is not a scoreboard. A competitor mentioned often may be one you beat every time. For the outcome side, see Win/Loss Synthesis, which tallies competitor as one of the factors across your closed deals.

The battlecard, and a card for one deal

The battlecard on an opened competitor is what you wrote down: how they win, how they lose, what to say when they come up. It is yours, it is not generated, and it does not change unless you change it.

Under it, "a card for one deal" writes a version for the deal in front of you, using the stage and the person you are talking to, plus what has actually been said about this competitor in your own activity. That one costs an AI call against your budget.

When the model is not available it hands back your saved battlecard and says so. That matters: a general card presented as one written for your deal is worse than getting nothing, because you would act on specificity that is not there.

Where it sits

On Deal Inspection, under the deal table, rather than on a page of its own. A competitor is a fact about a deal, so it belongs where the deals are, and the standalone competitor page this product used to have was retired some time ago and is not coming back. Part of salescron, alongside Deal Coach and MEDDPICC.
