Comp Coach
Turn quota attainment into an earnings forecast against your own comp plan. Base commission, accelerators, kickers, and the cap, computed the same way every time.
Overview
Comp Coach answers one question: what is this quarter actually worth, in dollars, right now. It combines your live quota attainment (the same number Activity and your forecast are built on) with the commission plan you enter, and runs both through one deterministic engine. No AI in the math, so the figure a rep sees always matches what a manager would compute by hand.
Entering your plan
- Quota, your period target in dollars.
- Base commission rate, the percentage paid on dollars closed up to 100% of quota.
- Accelerator bands, optional. Each band sets a higher marginal rate starting at an attainment threshold (for example, 12% on everything closed above 100% quota, 15% above 150%). Add as many bands as your plan has; they stack in order.
- Kickers, optional. A flat bonus that unlocks once you cross a named attainment threshold (for example, a $2,000 President's Club kicker at 100%).
- Cap, optional. The maximum total payout, if your plan has one. Leave it blank for an uncapped plan.
Find it under Settings, Comp plan. It had a top-level tab of its own until Phase 61, which put a page about your own commission next to Home and Activity on every account, including the founders who have no quota, no commission plan and no manager. It is configuration, so it sits with the rest of your configuration. Nothing is gated: every seat can reach it.
Save the plan once. Comp Coach recomputes your earnings every time you open the page, using whatever quota attainment is current, so you never have to re-enter it as the quarter moves.
How earnings are computed
- Base commission, the base rate applied to closed dollars up to 100% of quota.
- Accelerators, each band's rate applied to the slice of closed dollars that falls inside it, above 100% of quota.
- Kickers, every kicker whose attainment threshold your current attainment has reached, summed as flat bonuses.
- Gross commission, base plus accelerators plus kickers, before any cap.
- Payout, gross commission clamped to the cap when one is set. The breakdown table shows the cap line when it applies, so nothing is hidden.
- Next milestone, the closest accelerator band or kicker you have not yet reached, and the dollars of closed business still needed to unlock it.
No fabrication
A field you have not set, quota, base rate, a band, a kicker, is never guessed. It is defaulted to a safe value (zero, or dropped) and flagged in a warning banner above the earnings panel, and the page marks the whole figure as unconfirmed until you fill it in. An empty plan still loads; it just tells you honestly that there is nothing to compute yet.
A field you set to zero is a set field, not an empty one. A band that starts at 0%, a 0% rate, or a $0 kicker reloads showing the zero you saved, so an unset field and a deliberate zero never look alike.
